The Prisoner

The night was cold
In a prison cell

A pair of bright blue eyes look out
Into the darkness of the night
Mist appears
As he lets out a long breath of air

This was going to be the night
The night of his life

His minuscule frame
Shrinks into the shadows
As the guard walked past

He takes a deep breath
And opens the previously unlocked door
A brick in his hand

The guard kept walking
Not aware of the danger looming

The prisoner advanced slowly towards the guard
Careful not to make a sound

He struck

The guard fell to the floor
Fresh blood trickling down his face
Not knowing of his impending doom

The prisoner was now thirsty

Yes

Thirsty for blood

He bends over
And gave the guard a blow
That gave no chance
For him to ever feel the warmth of the sunlight
And the feel of the breeze on his face

The prisoner suddenly awoke from his trance
And surveys the whole scene before him
He couldn't take it anymore

The prisoner was suddenly grabbed from behind
He struggled like an animal
So hard
That his hunter had to let his grip loose

The animal in him took over
And the hunter was hunted
The prey was prey no more

He was strong
He knew it
The wild uncontrollable power in him
Was unstoppable

He was congratulating himself
Feasting his eyes on his accomplishment
When a shot broke the silence of the night

It felt as though the whole world had collapsed
He felt his eyes dim

Pain is your friend
He thought

And he collapsed
with an evil grin on his face
