after the loss i had been reflecting upon myself.
have i been conscious of my mental state throughout the season?
the answer, sad to say, is that i've only been thinking to a certain extent.
yes, i have been thinking. yes. i have been conscious of my mental state. well, at least when i'm batting. i catch the feeling when i'm hitting, and i reapply that same approach to every at bat this nationals. the only out in the nationals i had was against ri, and dude, i know where i went wrong then. i was thinking too much; thus the pop. worse still, it was the first pitch. blah. but that was a whole load off my shoulders. my 10 for 11 now isn't really that bad, is it?
no, i haven't been thinking. no. i have been half-conscious about the state of my mind while fielding. honestly i've only begun to pick up on my pitching since the acs game. but i cannot pitch at a fast pace. tough to adjust. slow pace works wonders for me. what should i do?
ah well. playing ball ain't all about the pennant yeah.
gotta keep movin'

Singapore: A Fantastic City
People overseas deem Singapore as a driveling city, filled with people whose sole purpose in life is to work ten hours a day in the office. Worse still, many people overseas do not even know about the existence of a country called Singapore! Yet, this is forgivable. I am very much assured that the majority of the people in Singapore do not even know the existence of this country called Namibia. What do I have to say?
The cosmopolitan city of Singapore, contrary to popular beliefs, is an exuberant city. The people here live with an unrestrained enthusiasm, for want of better lives for them and their kin. White-collar workers working till midnight just to earn that bonus, or even students mugging for the 'O' levels; the "work hard" attitude is everywhere.
Despite the hustle and bustle of life in Singapore, one would have no difficulties trying to find a peaceful place to loosen up. Parks are everywhere in Singapore. Lush greeneries, extraordinary views and beaches. One would instantaneously fall in love with the peace and quiet, engulfed in the beauties of Nature. Speaking of nature, one would never fail to see trees lining the sidewalks of Singapore. A clean and green environment indeed.
On the other hand, Singapore is a place where diverse cultures converge to form something entirely unique. Here, it a common for one to see people of many different races mixing around; something hard to find in certain countries. Credits go to the government for promoting racial harmony and social cohesion among the people while the country was still developing.
Singapore had over 17.4 million tourists in the year 2005, a staggering number for a country so small. What makes tourists love Singapore so much? Some say Orchard Road, some say City Hall, but the fact is that tourists just love the food here. Am I right? Delightful cuisines of all kinds can be found here in Singapore, regardless of whether it is Indian, Chinese, Malay, Western, Thai or Japanese food. One would have no problems finding the kind of food that they like. Food from the hawker centres do not lose out much to the so-called "high-class" hotel food, and these delicacies costs merely a few dollars at most. What more could one ask for?
Another thing that is unique to Singapore is the transport system. It is convenient for one to go to anywhere in Singapore, it being such a small country with such an efficient transport system. Everywhere you go in Singapore, bus-stops and MRT stations are always a common sight. If one is in a hurry, taxis are always available for hire, and one would reach the intended destination in the span of half an hour at most.
Indeed, Singapore is a fantastic city, is it not?

beatitude no.3
"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." Such goes the third beatitude, the topic of today's sermon. As of every beatitudes sermon, Rev Phua was preaching.
So, what is the definition of being meek?
Firstly, meekness goes along the identical connotations of being poor in spirit. Truth to be told, I missed out on the link while taking the notes down. Maybe you could help?
Secondly, being meek is not just to be compromising on the surface. In fact it requires much more complex things. Meekness requires character. Characters that are desirable by God's standards!
In today's society, people are educated based along the lines of the "survival of the fittest". Even though competition is essential for development, this "survival of the fittest" truly undermines the true meaning of meekness. Being meek, by the present society's standards, is a sign of weakness; a sign that portrays the uncompetitiveness in the particular individual. But wait. If the "survival of the fittest" truly applies to us. Why do lambs still exist? They are totally defenceless, aye? The answer to the question, is that God protects them.
I wrote in my notes, "Being meek ain't being weak! It's just about being susceptible to negative changes around you which are caused by others, without any violent reactions." Indeed, my phrasing does carry a certain magnitude of error, but I certainly wish that the message is sent across through the two sentences. One more thing, the meek are righteous and just.
Being meek truly ain't being weak. People who trust that God protects them, turns the other cheek for others to hit. This trust is the key factor to true meekness. Those who retaliate are, in fact, the ones who show signs of weaknesses.
Anger. Just one simple word, yet it can cause disastrous effects. Anger, which sad to say, few are able to suppress, will eventually lead to inclinations towards evil deeds. Somehow, it is actually not wrong to say that anger is one of the roots of evil. Just look in the newspapers and tell me. Has there been a day when no one commits crimes through anger?
You may question, "Hey! Jesus was angry when He saw the people settling transactions in the sanctuary!" Well, anger is necessary sometimes. ONLY for the right cause. Not because your brother ate your share of doughnuts, and not because your sister called you some names. You dig?
Anyways, Pastor Luke left me with some food for thought. He joined our class this morning and phew. His questions were thought-provoking and truly insightful. Very nice!
I don't know why, today's service felt exceptionally good. I was full of smiles, and I could not find a reason for that, but yeah. I am going to be early for every service. I want to experience the elation again.
That joy, that feeling. How I wish.
P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOYCELYN!!
